There are fantastic prizes worth over $3000 on offer this year and there will be a Youth Prize awarded in each category to acknowledge the great work young people are doing for our wetlands. There will be a People’s Choice Prize, where everyone can vote for their favourites. The winning photographs will be displayed on the WetlandCare Australia website and Facebook page, and at an exhibition in Ballina, NSW on World Wetlands Day (February 2, 2015).

“We all rely on wetlands for clean water, healthy habitats and beautiful landscapes” says Prize Coordinator Liz Hajenko. “The Prize gives everyone the chance to capture and share their favourite wetlands and waterways, and spread the word about our wonderful wetlands”

The categories open for entries this year are Wetland Flora, Changing Landscapes and Helping Wetlands Flourish. All categories are open to Australian residents of all ages.

Are you familiar with your local and regional wetlands and waterways? Now it’s time to be inspired by the wetland treasures nearby, and try out for great prizes while raising awareness about the importance of wetlands along the way! Entries close December 5.
